Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world and the poorest in the South Asia region. Its poverty reduction rate is low. The main reasons for this low poverty reduction rate are:
- Low per capital income,
- Concentrated urban growth, and
- High population growth rate.
Out of the total population, 24% are in below the poverty line.
Due to the lack of education, development of infrastructure even in 22nd century we Nepalese are backward in front of foreign countries in comparison to man, women’s are lying backward from other. They are just limited inside in home and household works. They feel afraid; hesitate to do something for themselves.
Women are part of overall development and it is necessary to improve their status as possible. They suffer from various problems such as illiteracy, unemployment, poor health, and low economic value of their work, deprivation from decision power even for their personal matters as well as from social and cultural matters. Their participation in economic and social activities is very low since long time.
Artisans Association of Nepal (imartisan.org) feels proud to present women empowerment paintings in canvas. The mode of all the Paintings are Acrylic on Canvas and all the paintings portrays the necessity of women empowerment in the developing countries like Nepal. All the paintings shed light in the importance of women empowerment. Seeing the painting, it feels like to be empowered, one must have been disempowered. Disempowering themes had been reflected in many forms in the paintings.
